We develop training plans are for each client, based on their specific needs determined by the security assessment and client agreement. Progress is then be tracked against the training plan, regulatory requirements and client agreements, and reported to the client on a regular basis. We provide training courses and supports complete progress tracking and reporting for all training activities to our employees.

Our Introduction to Security builds a foundation of basic security skills which all officers must complete before being assigned to a post.

Site-specific and Advanced Training includes learning and demonstrating competency of the Post Orders for their assignment. Advanced Certification training covers more than 30 security topics and can be studied as needed with our self study books.

Certified Security Supervisor Program
In security, supervisors roles are mission-critical. PSG has created the Certified Security Supervisor program for our supervisors and those preparing for supervisory responsibilities. Participants most complete four core supervisory courses within one year, plus courses in human resources, risk management and site management. This combination of technical security training and practical management skills provides a powerful foundation for success - measured in client satisfaction and improved business results.

Security Guard

Patrol and monitor facility or man post as instructed and serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or client rule infractions at or near assigned post which may be a threat to the property, client or employees at the site. Report all incidents, accidents or medical emergencies and inform police if necessary. Respond to emergencies, such as medical, alarms, such as fire and intrusion by following emergency response proceedings.
    Security Guard Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED, or at least 10 years of verifiable employment history.
  • At least two verifiable employer.
  • No criminal convictions as specified under PSG guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the English language for the purpose of public interaction and report writing, such as incident.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Security Site Supervisor
The Security Site Supervisor position is designed to provide daily support to the assigned Security Coordinator and assist with all assigned projects. The Security Site Supervisor must have excellent customer service skills and be able to make appropriate business decisions under various security and safety related situations. Supervises company personnel, including assigning work, coaching, and discipline, as defined by client contract. Site supervisor of Security Guards, Lead Guards and other company personnel assigned to one or more posts at client site(s); acts to ensure that all post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed, and that adequate reports are filed; notifies proper authorities and client in emergency situations.
    Job Requirement:
  • Ability to coach and disciplines personnel as appropriate; seeks advice from company management or designated representatives as appropriate; meets personally with employees and documents coaching and disciplinary actions.
  • Ability to train Security Guards and other company personnel; reviews post orders and other details of assignments with subordinates.
  • Assists in the submission of payroll sheets and personnel information to the company as designated.
  • Prepares, files and submits various reports as required.
  • As delegated, carries out or assists with security assessments and site surveys; may assist in developing post orders, may assist in development of safety initiatives.
  • Creates processes and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability and contract compliance.
  • May temporarily act on behalf of line management, as delegated.
  • Inspects posts as scheduled and meets with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities.
  • As directed, conducts analysis of operational performance and data, gathers information, and assists in implementing corrective action.
  • Provides input to company initiatives; promptly assists in the resolution of legal, financial, human resources, and administrative issues.
  • Participates in compliance assurance and audits as they relate to security at the designated health care account.
  • Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assigned office.
Qualification: Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position. Education/Experience: Associates degree and 2 or more years of experience in a field related to the security industry and/or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.

Armed Security
Armed Security Guard enforces regulations designed to prevent breaches of security. Exercises judgment and use discretion in dealing with whether first response should be to intervene directly (asking for assistance when deemed necessary and time allows), to keep situation under surveillance, or to report situation so that it can be handled by appropriate authority. Duties require specialized training in methods and techniques of protecting security areas. Commonly, the guard is required to demonstrate continuing physical fitness and proficiency with firearms or other special weapons.
    Job Requirements:
  • Verify identity of all persons entering installations and assess all vehicles for threats to the installation.
  • Check visitor identifications against access rosters.
  • Deter and prevent, by use of necessary use of force, unauthorized access to the installation through the access control point.
  • Maintain a log of all personnel and visitors entering and leaving building, residency, and property.
  • Immediately and effectively report illegal acts/ incidents, any attempts of unauthorized entry and all suspicious or unusual activity.

  • Notify the police and/or fire department in the event of an emergency situation.
  • Comply with Special Guard Post Requirements.
  • Security guards under this contract shall bear and may use firearms while performing security guard duties.

  • Properly detect and detain, by necessary use of force, persons suspected of committing other offenses such as drunk driving, improper transport of weapons, or other criminal violations.
    Armed Guard Basic Qualification:
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. College preferred.
  • US citizen.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Prior experience, military and/or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Preference to those applicants with prior experience as law enforcement contract security guards, military background and corrections officer.

  • Armed license required prior to employment; however, training and certification may be provided for the right candidate.

Security Managers

Managers are responsible for overseeing supervisors and guards daily, such as arranging staff rotas, and be required to set budgets and meet targets. Site Mangers primary duty is to ensure the company meets its contractual obligations. They responsible for exercising leadership, maintaining high morale, directing and inspecting the performance of security personnel assigned to their site.

Job Requirements: Assist in managing the operation of the Security and Safety Services function. Oversee the daily activities and monitor the performance of the Security and Safety Services staff. Create schedules, assign daily duties and communicate operations information to staff members. Work with Meeting Planners and Convention Services to facilitate a successful and safe experience for our clients. Supervise and review initial incident investigations. Ensure a timely response is provided for all reported incidents. Provide follow-up to guest complaints, reports, and employee issues. Perform regular inventories of security equipment. Provide training to Security and Safety Services staff. Ensure that all written documentation is completed at the end of each shift. Perform other duties as assigned. Lead the security team to provide an efficient, effective and up-to-date risk management environment in support of all corporate goals, and privacy compliance. Responsible for developing, maintaining, publishing, and enforcing corporate information security standards and guidelines encompassing data, physical and intellectual security. Proactively protects the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information in the custody of, or processed by, PSG, including all business clients and subsidiaries, providing reports to executive management regarding the effectiveness of network and data security and making recommendations for the adoption of new procedures and technologies as required. Responsible for development and maintenance of applications development programs within an enterprise security environment. Coordinates all internal and external audits and follow up with implementation based on audit recommendations. Implements and deploys corporate security policies, programs, and procedures, including managing all corporate, residential, etc security profiles. Manages information security standards and policies. - Proactively protects the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information in the custody of, or processed by, the PSG and all its clients: - Ensures responses in a timely manner to a loss or misuse of information assets - Identify and establish compliance with regulatory requirements defined for the security of information, personal data and intellectual property. Manages the daily workflow of information security department. - Performs corporate security risk assessments when, and where, appropriate via problem and change management systems. - Coordinate all internal and external audits and follow up with implementation based on audit recommendations. - Maintains a good working knowledge of the day-to-day operating environment, available tools, operating techniques, and customer applications.

Education/Experience: Associates degree and 5 or more years of experience in a field related to the security industry and/or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.
